What makes you especially qualified to run this business?

Ha! Well, aside from my being passionate about helping others reach their full potential and tenacious about getting there myself, I believe my experience in pretty much every seat of the web and marketing production cycle has a lot to do with why I chose to go this route in the first place. Having an understanding of the challenges faced by all stakeholders has enabled me to cut through a lot of the cruft and really understand motivations and how to establish – and reach – goals of all types.

Who is your ideal customer? How will you find them?

Our ideal customer is a founder/president/leader of a purpose-driven organization who is passionate about growth and has done it all themselves for years. As they look at how nuanced and complex digital marketing has become, they are looking for a trusted advisor to help fuel their growth through marketing. They are typically running an established business in the B2B category and understand where they want to go and that they need some help to get there so that they can stay focused on those activities for their business for which they have the greatest aptitude and influence. They recognize they can’t do everything (much less do everything well) and are looking for a partner to help them reach their goals.

As with most businesses, particularly those in the service industry, most of our sales derives from connections we make. Word of mouth, networking, and referrals tend to represent our biggest “bucket” of new business. We are members of a variety of organizations that share our values and provide opportunities to connect with business leaders who match our target audience (1% for the Planet, Colorado Outdoor Business Alliance, E2, B:Civic, etc.). Plus, this provides us with opportunities to help those who have a similar interest in doing “good” while they do well.

What KPIs are important to your businesses health right now?

Right now, I track quite a few KPIs around networking opportunities, qualified meetings, relationship-building opportunities, and charitable contributions. We also track inbound marketing activities (posts, interactions, etc.) and more outbound efforts (list growth, targeted outreach, etc.)

What is the meaning of life? You have one shot at this thing. Make the most of it.

What is your situation? (married, single, kids…) Married for 27 years. No kids. Lots of pets.

What advice would you give your 20 y/o self? Follow your passion and believe in yourself. You can do way more than you think you can.

What do you have left to do? Give away $1M before I croak.
