Founder & CEO

Who is your ideal customer?

IoT startups, SMBs or contractors with recurring MRR that are interested in working with city or state governments but are either too lean or too cash strapped to withstand long procurement cycles or take on more risk.

What are the challenges of working with government?

The churn of government officials responsible for procurement, the derailment of long-term projects because of whimsical politics, long procurement cycles, and the difficulties of identifying what power city officials actually have to make decisions and implement change (i.e., identifying the real power centers)

What are some unexpected benefits of working with government?

Governments have the ability to make long-lasting, positive change in their communities – being a part of that can be very rewarding. Also, sometimes you come across real, visionary leaders that are willing to take risks, cut through red tape, disrupt the status quo, and get things done for their constituents. It’s fun to be a part of that.

What is the meaning of life? Good question – let me know if you find the answer. I like to think the answer lies somewhere in between finding true freedom and realizing your life is not about you.

What is your situation? (married, single, kids…) I’m married to the lovely Shala Burroughs. We have one son.

What advice would you give your 20 y/o self? Don’t look for self-actualization in your job.

What do you have left to do? The list is long, but at the top of it is traveling around the world with my wife and kids.
